In Numbers 6:24-26 we come across a very familiar blessing or prayer we speak and pray over others and ourselves.

The Amplified Bible renders these verses as:

[24] The LORD bless you,
and keep you [protect you, sustain you, and guard you];
[25] The LORD make His face shine upon you [with favor],
and be gracious to you [surrounding you with lovingkindness];
[26] The LORD lift up His countenance (face) upon you [with divine approval],
and give you peace [a tranquil heart and life].

The Aaronic blessing is made up of three parts (each with two parts) that call on the divine name of God: the LORD or Yahweh. In other words, the three verses combined ask, that God would dwell among His people and meet all their needs.

Continue to speak and pray this blessing over others and yourself: that God’s favour and protection be upon us, that He be pleased with us, merciful and compassionate, and that He give His approval and peace which transcends all understanding. Amen.
